A month of celebrations of achievements and festivals

Namaste from GIIS Surat

“Tough Times Never Last, but Tough People Do”

                                                                             -Robert Schuller

This saying holds so very true in current circumstances. Infact it’s the perseverance and patience that will help us pass through these real tough times, while we gradually get accustomed to the new normal. It would not have been easy for us to move ahead in life with Covid-19 all around us but the teamwork of the management, the students, all parents, and the teachers of GIIS have proved that nothing can stop us. All this while, with no interruptions, our students have been studying, doing assemblies, appearing in assessments, celebrating festivals, having presentations and discussions, benefitted from cross-campus teaching, and whatnot. Our students even participated enthusiastically in inter-GIIS global and national events like Al Tasamuh organized by GIIS Abu Dhabi, RWCC by GIIS Singapore, and Symposiums by GIIS India, so on and so forth.

It is indeed a matter of pride for GIIS Surat that taking crisis situation as an opportunity, we have been able to teach our students and inculcate in them a very important life skill of being courageous during turbulent times. Apart from regular virtual classes we are also engaging our students in different club activities as part of our 9 GEMS framework for holistic learning, and have been regularly conducting special assemblies to keep our students up to date. To sum up the key activities we conducted during the last two months, we celebrated Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti by holding quiz competitions and by arranging virtual tours to the renowned Sabarmati Ashram. Sardar Patel Jayanti was celebrated as Ekta Diwas, Navratri, Diwali, and Children’s day celebrations among many others. Keeping the festivities of the season in mind, we had also organised a Diya Decoration Workshop Rangoli Competition for everyone.

I am hopeful that with the support of our parents and teachers, we will continue to make the learning journey of our students as enriching and interesting as possible even during these unprecedented times.

Stay safe and Stay Healthy.
