GIIS Surat celebrated its first Investiture Ceremony for 2012. The investiture ceremony is an integral part of student’s development where we entrust with important post of responsibility as a school prefectorial body and the house captains. It is a momentous occasion as the members of the prefectorial body are expected to maintain discipline amongst the students. The prefectorial body helps students in developing talents, foster a spirit of team work and co-operation, and encourage personal and group initiative and the spirit of service. The prefects have to uphold the respect and integrity of the badge - of - office and grow as excellent confident leaders with the identity of Global Indian International School. This experience should make them all learn practical meaning of truth and honour and also equip them with problem solving techniques. I congratulate all the office bearers and bless them to strive ahead with the ‘go - getter’ attitude. They are the stars and I expect them to exhibit leadership by example with a sense of service, humility and self-confidence. A lot of duties and responsibilities are accorded to them all and I am sure they will perform with utmost sincerity upholding the prestige of the badge - of - office. The school has a prefectorial system, each year a prefectorial body is set up to help proper functioning of the school. The board consists of head boy and head girl at the top and the prefects to assist them. They lead a large group of prefects including high post holders like the house captains.

The students are nominated to the posts after the set of meetings among the principal, teachers and the various departments of the school like library and physical training. Students were conferred with their badge of office by the Sarpanch of Chalthan Mrs. Kashmiraben Desai and the oath of office was administered by Principal Ms.Pushpy Dutt.
