GIIS smart campus, Hadapsar celebrated the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi virtually with great zeal and zest. All students connected virtually via zoom and paid homepage to our respected 'Gandhi Ji'. The day is also observed as UN non-violence day across the globe.  

All students from different grades participated whole-heartedly in various activities which were based on Gandhian's values and principles. This included activities such as storytelling, charkha making, collage competition, essay competition where children showcased their active participation and involvement. Through these activities, the teachers wanted all children to imbibe such values in their real-life too. 

The major purpose behind organizing such events is to spread Gandhian ideologies and values that are relevant even in today's time. Sensitizing our students on these is very important as they are eventually going to be our future leaders. Utilizing the day to the best, the teachers made all possible efforts to highlight the significance of the day and Gandhi Ji's values which also forms the core of the teaching-learning process at GIIS. Through several community-based activities, the teachers kept the students engaged throughout the day. 

Our little ones from the pre-primary section also participated enthusiastically with the strong support of their parents and teachers at home. They also performed in one of the popular and one of the favourite songs of Bapu - 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram', followed by several other events. The kids also dressed up in Bapu's attire that represented the lifestyle of Bapu. The overall day was quite wonderful, enriching and interactive. The effort put in by all the teachers is worth appreciating and we are really thankful to parents and students for their active participation. The love and dedication they showered towards Mahatma Gandhi virtually were quite surprising.
