Happy Ending!

December, the last month of the year, is the time of giving and the season of joy and love. It is the month wherein everything seems so magical and lively. To make it sprightlier, GIIS Smart Campus, Hadapsar ended the year on a happy note through an awe-inspiring Annual Day Gathering event.

The Academic Head for Global Montessori Plus Program, Ms Vaishali Borde, was our Guest of Honour for the evening. A month long productive and diligent work put forth by the students and teachers was evident which in turn brought success to the show. The participating students were large in numbers. Right from Kindergarteners to the Secondary department, each and every student gave in their best. The two-day mega event proved to be a platform for the young minds to showcase their talents in multiple ways. Plays, dances, choir and school band ensured that it stimulated and excited the audience.

‘GIIS ke Navratna’ or ‘9 GEMS of GIIS’ was the theme of the show. Global Indian International School lays great emphasis on 9 GEMS. It’s a holistic education framework which is a balanced, age-appropriate and adaptive approach to student development which makes them well-evolved personalities. The focus is not just on academic excellence, but also on other aspects of student growth including sports excellence, skills development, leadership skills, artistic skills and universal values. These competencies help in vocational and career progression during school years. Keeping this in mind, the theme was carefully thought and executed. Through speech and drama and various cultural programmes,

students and parents on the whole got a clear idea about the significance and meaning of 9 GEMS. The implementation of each GEM was done in innovative and creative ways. All the 9 GEMS were put up fantastically by both the departments – academic and co – curricular.

Humour, activities, skits, mimes and various forms of dances added zeal and aroused curiosity among the audience. They were not only glued to their seats but were also jaw-dropped as the events progressed. Cheers, loud applauding, sparkling smiles and oodles of emotions filled the school ground with unforgettable memories. They were amazed to see their little ones performing with great confidence and ease.

The gathering was truly a colourful and musical one. Outstanding props, dashing costumes, foot – tapping dance performances and fine-tuned music were the highlights of the show. Students went home with pride in their eyes and cheery smiles for putting up a fantabulous show.

In order to bring in the spirit of Christmas, a splendid and impressive Christmas play was put forth by the teachers which also included Christmas carols and a rocking dance performance. Their performance was a manifestation of welcoming the new year with optimism, hopes, aspirations and new adventures.

An excellent and much appreciated way to end the show. A well – deserved winter break for all after all the hard work!
