Awesome August for GIIS Hadapsar

Greetings everyone!

We hope that everyone is finding and making their way through these unprecedented times. While academic excellence is our major thrust, the school is also devoted to prepare the students for life, groom them to face the challenges of tomorrow, and encourage them to be socially relevant. The parents are the most strengthening power in moulding the future of children. Now, as far as the institution is concerned, we are delighted to share that Global Indian International School (GIIS),  Smart Campus Hadapsar, has been awarded the Best International School in India during the 2nd Global Education & Skill Conclave. This could be made possible in a very short span of time only with the constant support of the Management, Staff & Parents. Parents' consistent support empowers us to do more and more.

As India Celebrated its 75th Independence Day this year with great fervour and the tricolour was seen as a brand in everything from cookies, sandwiches to mugs and dresses, not to mention the tricolour balloons and the themed attire that marked the festivities at GIIS, we choose to explore what the day marked 75 years ago-FREEDOM.

On the occasion, the junior, middle, and senior grades students explored their individual relationships to understand the meaning of freedom –through art, craft, essays, stories illustrations, and any form of creative expression that appealed to them which was celebrated on the 13th Aug’ 21.  There was a virtual celebration of our Independence on the 15th of Aug ’21.

The programme began traditionally with the hoisting of the flag and was followed by the National Anthem. Our music teacher had conducted a Patriotic competition for all the students and the winners were announced that day. Our very own school band gave a tribute to our nation through their mesmerizing music and the teachers lent their voices to a medley of some patriotic songs.

Likewise, Raksha Bandhan was celebrated by our students with great enthusiasm as a Rakhi-making competition was also organised by the teachers to make them engaged and motivated throughout the session. The Pre-Primary students also celebrated Green Day by understanding the significance of Nature and they were all seen decked up in green and learned about things in green through various hands-on activities. Janmashtami was another event celebrated by our students who were dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha and learned about their devotion, love, and bond for each other during the virtual classes.

The 9 GEMS activities were also conducted throughout the month. The children connected and explored their local environment by making ‘Thank you cards’ for the under-privileged community such as their maids, milkman, etc., and thanked them for all the hard work they put in to make their lives easier. The students also had a life skill activity, namely ‘Teen Rangon Ka Tadka’ based on creating a food platter representing the monuments of India.

Finally, there were some STEAM activities conducted such as the Olympic dancer made with batteries and magnets as an introduction to electricity and electromagnetism. Indeed, the last month surely ignited a patriotic feeling among the students and also was instrumental in enhancing their creative side.

Exams are about to approach and its breathtaking not only for the students but for parents too. So, kindly ensure that students are well prepared & they give their best. Let the students appear for the forthcoming examination with no stress on the results. The entire team of GIIS staff wishes Good luck to all our students. I am confident enough that GIISians will make them stronger day after day & bring in more laurels to the school.

Kindest Regards,

Dr.Lakshmi Prasanna Principal
