Voices That Connect the World: Celebrating World Radio Jockey Day

GIIS Lava, Nagpur celebrated World Radio Jockey Day with great excitement through a lively and engaging school assembly. The session was confidently led by Siya Hedaoo and Saee Wasnik of Grade 8A, who introduced everyone to the inspiring world of radio jockeys.

The assembly focused on the important role played by radio jockeys in our daily lives. Students learned that RJs are not just voices behind the microphone, but talented professionals who entertain, inform, and connect people through their shows. Siya and Saee explained how radio jockeys prepare for their programs by doing research, planning content, selecting music, and thinking of creative ways to keep listeners engaged.

The presenters also highlighted the skills required to become a successful RJ — confidence, clear speaking, quick thinking, creativity, and a positive attitude. They shared how RJs interact with listeners, host live shows, conduct interviews, and keep the energy high throughout their broadcast. Students were excited to learn how much effort and preparation goes into making a radio show lively and enjoyable.

The assembly helped everyone understand that radio jockeys play a powerful role in spreading awareness, sharing information, and bringing joy to thousands of listeners every day. It was an informative and inspiring session that encouraged students to respect and appreciate this unique and dynamic profession.
