GIIS Lava, Nagpur, Inspires Young Minds with Gandhian Values on Gandhi Jayanti

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” - Mahatma Gandhi

GIIS Lava, Nagpur, commemorated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with reverence and enthusiasm, instilling his ideals of truth, non-violence, and patriotism among its students. The celebration aimed to inspire students to adopt Gandhian principles in their daily lives.

Students from Nursery to Grade 2 actively participated in a variety of engaging activities that reflected Gandhiji’s philosophy. The highlight of the event was a thematic walk around the school, symbolising the historic Dandi March and Salt Satyagraha. Dressed in traditional Khadi attire, the children carried thought-provoking placards bearing slogans like ‘Do or Die’, ‘Truth’ and ‘Non-Violence’. The powerful march brought alive the spirit of India’s freedom struggle within the school premises.

A short skit presented by the pre-primary students beautifully portrayed simple yet inspiring episodes from Gandhiji’s life, spreading his timeless message of simplicity and peace. Teachers further enriched the session by sharing anecdotes from Gandhiji’s life journey, helping students relate his teachings to everyday life. Patriotic songs sung by the children added to the atmosphere of national pride and unity.

Principal Ms. Nidhi Gupta expressed her thoughts on Gandhiji and his teachings at GIIS, “At GIIS, we strive to nurture value-driven learners who embody truth and compassion. The Gandhi Jayanti celebration reminded our students that Gandhiji’s teachings remain deeply relevant in today’s world.”

The event concluded with a reflection of Gandhiji’s message of peace and determination. It not only celebrated his legacy but also inspired students to make small yet meaningful contributions towards a just and harmonious society. GIIS Nagpur continues to uphold its mission of fostering holistic growth rooted in moral and ethical values.
