Our little learners had a blast at the Navratri + Happiness Week celebrations

GIIS Nagpur organised a colourful Navratri and Happiness Week celebration for primary and pre-primary students of the school. The little learners gathered in the MPH (multi-purpose hall) which was decorated with Navratri-themed designs to kickstart the celebrations.

The week-long celebrations started with a special presentation themed around the festival. Teachers explained the importance of the nine days of Navratri followed by a story narration of the entire story behind the celebrations of Navratri, the nine forms of goddess Durga, and how the celebration signifies the victory of good over evil.

On the other hand, the primary focus of the Happiness Week was to promote children's happiness as a fundamental component of their learning experience. The week saw a series of activities with the intention of instilling the importance of happiness and the need to celebrate oneself among students.

Besides this, laughter yoga, drawing things that make you laugh, creating and sharing funny dialogues, making a happiness collage, setting up a gratitude jar, making a happiness journal, and laughter therapy, etc. were conducted throughout the week. Each event was focused on the personality development of the students and was aligned with the notion of mental rejuvenation.

The celebrations concluded with a special Dandia dance performance by the little ones and teachers. The colorful Dandiya and Dandiya Raas rejuvenated the festival's vibrancy and made the celebrations all the more colorful.

At GIIS Nagpur, our core value of having a curriculum induced with fun and happy elements makes learning a highly productive and enjoyable exercise for our students. We realize that success in the contemporary world relies not just on aptitude, but also on creativity.

Through our 9 GEMS pedagogy, we ensure a truly innovative programme that uses an age-appropriate and adaptive approach to allow students to evolve as they grow. The idea to celebrate this week is to spread the message about the importance of happiness and well-being in our daily lives.
