Global Indian International School (GIIS), Lava Campus, Nagpur, opened its courts to hundreds of young athletes as it hosted the taluka-level school badminton tournament, organised by the District Sports Officer's Office, Nagpur. The three-day event brought together 30 schools and 320 participants competing across the Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 age groups, in both boys' and girls' categories.

Students displayed strong technique and sportsmanship throughout the matches, with several close contests keeping spectators engaged across all age categories.

Results

In the Under-14 category, Podar International School, Besa, won first place in the Girls' section, with Narayana Vidyalaya, Koradi Road, finishing second. In the Boys' section, St. Vincent Pallotti School, Besa, took first place, followed by Delhi Public School, Mihan.

The Under-17 Girls' title went to Podar International School, Godhani, with Delhi Public School, Lava, as runner-up. In the Under-17 Boys' category, Podar International School, Besa, secured first place, with Montfort School, Ashokvan, in second.

For Under-19, G.S. Raisoni Junior College, MIDC Hingna Road, won the Girls' title, with Modern School, Bokhara, placing second. In the Boys' category, Delhi Public School, Mihan, finished first, followed by Prerana International School, Virgaon.

All winning students will now advance to represent their schools at the district-level tournament.

The tournament was conducted smoothly with the support of Ms Nidhi Gupta, Principal of GIIS Nagpur, along with sports teacher Mr Pratik Bhoyar and Taluka Secretary Mr Umesh Chaure. Match officials also played a key role in ensuring fair play and timely scheduling across the three days of competition.

GIIS Nagpur was proud to serve as the host venue for this district-level sporting initiative, providing students from across the taluka the opportunity to compete and showcase their skills on a wider platform.
