GIIS Nagpur students brought home multiple awards from two inter-school dance competitions held over consecutive weeks, with results spanning folk, classical, and solo performance categories.

At the iCEN Rhythm Inter-School Dance Competition, organised by Centre Point School International, GIIS Nagpur's Senior Category team performed an African Folk Dance routine, competing against teams from other schools across the city. The performance was assessed on choreography, synchronisation, and stage presence, and the team's execution stood out to judges for its energy and coordination.

Individual honours followed for the school. Arnav Dekate of 6th Grade was awarded Best Dancer, a title contested by participants from fourteen schools that took part in the competition — one of the more competitive individual categories on the day. The Junior Category team also placed, receiving the Best Team Coordination, Synchrony and Harmony Award for their group performance, which recognised how well the dancers moved together as a unit rather than any single standout performer.

Days later, GIIS Nagpur students competed at "Nrutyadhara," an inter-school dance competition hosted by Delhi Public School, Lava, Nagpur. Kavya Punase of 7th Grade represented the school with a Bharatanatyam solo performance of "Natesha Kautukam," a classical composition performed to traditional rhythm patterns. Her performance was judged on technical precision, expression (abhinaya), and overall stage presence, and she received Special Recognition for the piece — an individual honour distinct from the team categories at the earlier event.

Together, the two competitions gave GIIS Nagpur students exposure to different performance formats: group choreography judged on collective timing and coordination, and solo classical performance judged on individual technique and interpretation. Both fall under the school's broader co-curricular framework, which includes structured training in both folk and classical dance forms as part of student development beyond the classroom.

Preparation for both competitions involved regular rehearsal sessions in the lead-up to each event, with students working on formations, timing, and individual technique ahead of the performances. Teachers and dance instructors at GIIS Nagpur guided the students through this preparation process.
