INDORE, 2 OCTOBER, 2018 - Global Indian International School (GIIS), Indore elected the student council for the current academic session i.e. 2018-19. Investiture Ceremony was held in the school campus where the official office bearers marched down the aisle with their sashes. It was a day of colours, excitement and exuberance for the school and proud parents, who came to witness their child take new leadership roles.

Investiture Ceremony is the most awaited event of the school. Every year the school and parents celebrate appointment of the new student body and felicitation of the young academic/co-scholastics achievers of the school. Like every year, this year too, the programme began with the lighting of torch by chief guest Col. Kartar Singh Sirohi, who is the District Sainik Welfare Officer in Indore. Joining the celebrations along with Mr. Sirohi were Mr. B.K. Singh (Commandant, BSF) and school infrastructure partners Mr. Hemant and Sumit Suri.

Dr. (Capt.) Dinisha Bhardawaj - Principal, GIIS Indore along with the chief guest presented badges and sashes to the council members who marched past their way into the ground. Then the oath ceremony administered by the Principal took place where each member of the council promised to work for the welfare of the school and the children.

Students who had achieved a good score in academics in the last four years, along with the ones who had performed exceedingly well in co-scholastics, were awarded by the Principal and the guests present in the ceremony. It was certainly a delightful experience for the parents to witness their ward being honoured.

Sharing words of wisdom with everyone, Col. Sirohi explained about the value of sportsmanship and team spirit. He narrated a motivational story that taught students about handling failures and never giving up on one's dreams, no matter what goes wrong. Adding to his thoughts, Mr. Singh motivated students to never stop seeking and learning for it is a never ending process. He even quoted Dr. A.P.J Kalam's lines, which said, "Dream and work hard to fulfil them, work as responsible people to do best in your life."

To select the members of the student council, actual election process was carried out within the school to make students realize the importance of casting a vote and how their choice can define the future of an organization.
