Gone are the days when only mothers were held responsible for a nurturing and upbringing a child. While 21st century has brought numerous changes in the role a father plays in the development years of a child, their roles have evolved into much deeper involvement than ever before.

It has been proven that children who get good amount of attention from their fathers are likely to do better in their life in comparison to who don’t, both personally and professionally. Understanding the importance of a father-child relationship and the impact a father’s presence has in a child’s life, Global Indian International School (GIIS), Indore celebrated Father’s Day with profound joy and galore in the campus on 17th June, 2017.

Pre-primary wing of the school saw fathers of all our tiny tots beaming with joy and gratitude. Ms Sarika Bhatia, pre-primary co-ordinator along with pre-primary teachers welcomed all the fathers to a fun filled day of activities and happiness. Moving ahead with the celebrations, a special session on the implementation and working of Google apps was conducted by Mr Kundan (TGT IT, GIIS Indore).  All the fathers were happy to know about technological initiatives GIIS Indore takes to uplift its students’ knowledge and personality.

Suiting the occasion and celebrations intent, a short video based on a father-child relationship was shown to the fathers highlighting a father’s role in growth and development of a child. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Captain Dinisha Bhardwaj - Principal GIIS Indore, discussed the demanding role a father plays in a child’s life from their birth till his last breath.

As the celebrations advanced a “Look alike” competition was organised for fathers and children to participate in the Ramp walk where the father child duo was judged upon similarities in their looks. Touching songs and speeches were also a part of the celebrations as tiny tots of the school made every effort to make father’s day celebrations a memorable experience for all the doting fathers.

The objective was to foster importance of relationships and family values among children, and giving a platform to all the fathers to step ahead and relive their childhood like never before.
