The 68th Independence Day was celebrated at GIIS Indore, with great fanfare and gaiety. The entire school was beautifully decorated with tricolour flags. The function started with the unfurling of the National Flag by Mr. Abhishek Sharma. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The day was marked by the fantastic performance of the Pre-Primary classes, their rhythmic dance keeping up with the patriotic fervour of the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal recalled the contributions of our freedom fighters and gave a clarion call to the younger generation to live up to the expectations of the motherland and encouraged them to practice freedom in a responsible and sincere manner. He also said that there was a need of good leaders in the country. The function came to an end with a vote of thanks and with the echoic slogan of Jai Hind by the entire school assembly.
Primary and Pre-Primary students of GIIS Indore gathered to celebrate the festival of Eid on 29th July 2014. EID was celebrated in GIIS Indore to sensitize the children about the importance of the festival spreading the message of peace, unity and brotherhood. Students were also encouraged to help each other.
Janmashtami was celebrated by organising a competition on ‘Bansuri making’ and ‘Matki decoration’. All the students participated and enjoyed the activity to mark the birth of Lord Krishna.
All the students of GIIS Indore made Rakhis for their class mates and the Principal. The band of friendship symbolises the effort and promise to care for each other. The purpose of this celebration was to build a ‘familistic’ environment.
