Transport Day
At GIIS Ahmedabad Transport Day was celebrated with a lot of excitement and fun. Pre-primary students were learning about the various types of transport for the entire month of January. In February, Transport Day was highlighted as the culmination activity organized for the tiny-tots. A ‘Transport show’ was organized wherein models of different modes of transport like GIIS Airways, parachute yacht, car, train etc. were displayed. Children were excited to see the GIIS Airport and runway.
Traffic laws are the laws which govern traffic and regulate vehicles and movement of pedestrians to facilitate the orderly and timely flow of traffic. Abiding by traffic rules is the duty of any citizen; this basic value was inculcated in the children through the fun activity of following traffic rules. The little ones curiously observed road transport and traffic signals and they learnt about the indication of ‘stop, start and go’ signs which added to their learning about transport. The most exciting moment for children was riding a bicycle.
Little Zebras on Zebra Crossing
The colour theme was Black & White. Children were dressed in black and white attires which complimented the theme of transport. They identified with black and white objects like zebra crossing, black and white balloons etc. Classroom boards were decorated with cut-outs of panda, penguins and Dalmatians. Children learn well through visual cues and understood the concept of solid and contrast colours.
