Living up to Swami Vivekananda’s timeless words, the students of GIIS Ahmedabad have once again demonstrated that discipline, perseverance, and consistent effort lead to excellence. Our young karatekas delivered an outstanding performance at two prestigious tournaments - the Khel Mahakumbh District Level Karate Tournament held at Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, and the 19th All Gujarat State Level Shito-Ryu Sports Karate Championship 2025, organised by the Shito-Ryu Sports Karate Association of India (SSKAI) at Pandit Dindayal Hall, Ahmedabad.

At the district level, GIIS students showcased remarkable strength, focus and sportsmanship. The 1st and 2nd position winners earned the honour of being selected to represent the district at the state level tournament, making the entire GIIS community immensely proud. Students from both U-14 and U-17 categories displayed exceptional skill, with multiple podium finishes highlighting their rigorous training and determination.

Adding to this success, our Afternoon Shift students brought laurels to the school at the state level Shito-Ryu Championship by winning an impressive tally of gold, silver, and bronze medals. Their confident performances reflected not only technical excellence but also the values of respect, self-control, and resilience that karate instills.

Congratulating the champions, the GIIS Ahmedabad Principal, Mr. Caesar D’silva, shared, “Our students’ achievements in karate reflect the true spirit of holistic education at GIIS. Sports play a vital role in shaping confident, disciplined, and resilient individuals. I congratulate all our champions and extend heartfelt appreciation to their coach Mr. Kishor Khorwal, for his unwavering dedication and mentorship.”
