Class 6B of GIIS Noida gave the school a touching start to the day with their special assembly held in honour of the International Day of Peace and Development. Their message was simple and heartfelt — peace is what brings love, respect and togetherness into our lives.

The morning began with a calm, soothing prayer that set the tone beautifully. This was followed by an encouraging speech by Dishank Singh, who spoke in a relatable way about why peace matters in our everyday routines — in the way we speak, behave and treat people around us. His words gently reminded everyone to choose kindness more often.

Next came a thoughtful poem by Anshika Bhaskar and Arhaan Nirman, expressing how unity and love can make life brighter. Students also performed short role-plays inspired by leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Teresa, showing how even small actions — a kind word, a helping hand — can bring about real change.

Adding to the charm of the morning were graceful dance performances, followed by a collective peace pledge. It was a lovely moment as students promised to respect one another, stay calm and try their best to live peacefully every day.

The assembly concluded with an insightful message by Ms Jyotsana (Middle School Coordinator), who spoke about the importance of finding peace within ourselves through patience, understanding and thoughtful actions.

The entire programme left everyone with a warm, gentle reminder: peace isn’t something big or distant. It begins in the little choices we make, and in the kindness we show each other.
