Inspired by the timeless wisdom of Swami Vivekananda and the extraordinary legacy of Srinivasa Ramanujan, GIIS Ahmedabad marked National Mathematics Day with enthusiasm, creativity, and intellectual vigour. The celebrations beautifully blended thought, performance, and innovation, reinforcing the idea that mathematics is not merely a subject, but a way of thinking that shapes logical minds and confident problem-solvers.

The day began with a special assembly by Grade 4C (Morning Shift), thoughtfully curated to depict key life events of the mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan. Through expressive narration and visual presentation, students brought Ramanujan’s inspiring journey to life. The importance of mathematics in everyday life was creatively conveyed through a nukkad natak, making complex ideas relatable and engaging. Adding a contemporary touch, a lively rap song highlighting Ramanujan’s qualities captivated the audience, followed by a high-energy dance performance that concluded the assembly on an inspiring note.

Extending the celebration, Mathfinity at GIIS Ahmedabad showcased the passion and potential of Grades 6 to 8 Morning Shift students through an interactive mathematics exhibition.

The event featured innovative models, engaging mathematical games, and confident student-led explanations, demonstrating that maths is about curiosity, exploration, and enjoyment. Under the guidance of the dedicated MS (6 to 8) Mathematics teachers, Mathfinity emerged as a vibrant platform where learning met creativity, leaving visitors impressed by the depth of understanding and originality displayed by students.
