“Sports is not just about winning medals; it is about building character, discipline and the courage to dream big.” - Sachin Tendulkar

Inspired by this powerful thought, GIIS Ahmedabad Annual Sports Meet 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm by students from GMP to Grade 4, across both Morning and Afternoon Shifts. The much-awaited event reaffirmed the school’s commitment to holistic education by integrating physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and confidence-building into the learning journey from an early age.

The Sports Meet was thoughtfully curated around two age-appropriate themes. For the GMP segment, ‘Little Step, Big Dreams - Olympic 2036 symbolised the beginning of a lifelong sporting journey, encouraging young learners to dream big as they took their first confident steps in sports. For students of Grades 1 to 4, the theme ‘Our Journey to Gold’ reflected perseverance, goal-setting, and the spirit of striving for excellence through consistent effort.

Sharing insights on the importance of sports in early education, ECA Coordinator, Ms. Rajkunwarba Patel, highlighted that the Annual Sports Meet provides students with a platform to develop physical strength, coordination, discipline, and teamwork, while ensuring that every child experiences the joy of participation and self-achievement.

The event featured a wide range of engaging and skill-based activities. GMP students enthusiastically participated in events such as the 30m Dash, Bean-Bag Collection Race, Bean-Bag Balancing on Head, Hopping Race with Soft Ball, Motorcycle Race, Hurdle Race, Aeroplace Race, Zig-Zag Race, and Passing Hula-Hoop from Body, focusing on balance, agility, and motor skills.

Students of Grades 1 and 2 showcased endurance and coordination through the Kangaroo Race with Ball, Drag the Ball Race, Army Drill Race, 50m Hurdle with Cone, 4x50m Relay, and Tango Charlie Race. Meanwhile, Grades 3 and 4 students demonstrated advanced athletic abilities in events such as the 4x50m Relay Race, Foam Javelin Throw, 50m Dash, German Drill Race, 50m Hurdle, and Long Jump.

Emphasising the school’s vision, Principal Mr. Caesar D’silva stated that sports empower students to embrace challenges, build resilience, and grow into confident individuals, reflecting GIIS Ahmedabad’s commitment to nurturing excellence both on and off the field.

The GIIS Annual Sports Meet 2025 for GMP to Grade 4 concluded with a vibrant celebration of energy, enthusiasm, and effort, leaving young athletes inspired and reinforcing GIIS Ahmedabad’s mission of shaping well-rounded, future-ready learners.
