East Coast Campus conducts enriching activities for its students to mark Tamil Literary Week

GIIS East Coast Campus celebrated Tamil Literary Week between July 18 and 22 by organising a wide array of activities and competitions encouraging students from all grade levels to enhance their proficiency in the language and get in-depth knowledge about its richness.

Students from Primary 1 and 2 participated in some interesting activities which include show and tell, storytelling, puzzles, and spelling bee among others. On the other hand, for the students in Primary 3, 4, 5, and 6 activities such as word translation, Thirukkural recitation, and book review were conducted which helped them to learn about famous leaders, authors, and poets.

The secondary students from Classes 7-10 collaborated with their peers to research and created videos related to ancient poets. They also created charts on Thirukkural and various literary poems. The students confidently presented their projects in front of the class.

Other highlights of the weeklong celebration were, tongue twister game, a puppet show, talk on traditional games, and a debate. Numerous awards were also given to the winners of different competitions. Overall, it was an enriching experience for the students and they had fun while taking part in varied creative activities.

GIIS always emphasises on the importance of laying strong foundations for its students by offering multiple opportunities so that their learning is in-depth and engaging, and fun at the same time. Initiatives like this depict how the school nurtures its students with thoughtfully created activities so that their learning curve always moves upwards.
