Peace Day celebration was a memorable event at GIIS Bannerghatta

“Be the harmony in the melody echoing in the heart of humanity.”
                                                                                                             - Abhijit Naskar

World peace is extremely important for the growth and prosperity of the entire global community and it is the only path that will lead to more social cohesion and interactions that will benefit everyone. Students of GIIS Bannerghatta were sensitized to the significance of peace and harmony on the occasion of Peace Day celebration where they performed many activities and got familiar with its need in today’s world.

The celebration for Pre-perimary tots began with an introduction about the idea of peace and kids were also walked briefly through the various tragic events in the world that could have been avoided with peaceful settlements. The idea behind the day’s activities was to develop compassion and sympathy in the tender minds and make them aware of the little changes everyone can make with their constant efforts towards peace. To generate more understanding of the topic, kids were also encouraged to participate in many activities around the concept and encouraged to gather in the school’s playground to form a peace symbol.

Our Primary kids also took part in the celebration with great enthusiasm. Dressed in beautiful white dresses, kids made pictures and origami pieces of dove- a universal symbol of peace and harmony, and expressed their ideas on the importance of peace.

GIIS has always been a follower of Mahatma Gandhi- one of the biggest advocates of peace and non-violence in the history and takes various steps to inculcate his principals and ideals in students. On this occasion, kids were also walked through his inspirational life and taught how a person can bring unimaginable changes in the world with just his strong will, steadfast beliefs, and peaceful measures.
