Math Summer Camp gives a perceptive learning experience to students

During this summer holiday break, the students of GIIS Bannerghatta had a very good time, during the Virtual Math Summer Camp. It was a very well organized activity week galore with a lot of interesting activities for young minds, intending to give them a happy think-tank exercise.

Grade 1 and 2 enjoyed making Origami cubes and were able to understand the basic properties of cubes. The Count in triangles activity was interesting as it helped them solve the puzzles, visualize 2D shapes and improve reasoning skills. Drawing with numbers was yet another good activity to improve their concentration skills with ease and fun.

Grade 3 found it amazing to learn the trick of solving magic squares. Children were able to form 3x3 magic squares, identify the pattern, and use operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Grade 4 and 5 students liked the activity wherein they had to find out the HCF and LCM of two numbers using the concept of the Venn diagram. As part of the Basics of Coordinate Geometry, they could locate a point based on its ABSCISSA and ORDINATE value. In the Lattice Multiplication, the students could multiply a two-digit number by a two-digit number or a three-digit number by a two-digit number using the concept of Lattice Multiplication.??

The Math Summer Camp for this year has received happy responses from all students as well as their parents. While students enjoyed all the activities and made the most of the summer break, parents were happy that the children could be conveniently engaged at home with creative activities that were made around the theme of Math.
