GIIS Bannerghatta SMART Campus witness a festive and happy August month

Dear Parents,

August usually heralds the beginning of the festive months ahead and GIIS Bannerghatta welcomed the new month with a lot of fervour.

Happiness that much-coveted emotion means different things to different individuals and our children from the primary section found plenty of ways to express their joy. Happiness pervaded their hearts and souls as they went about indulging in little acts that brought them immense pleasure.  Indeed a great way to kickstart this month.

Independence Day was a landmark event this year graced by an eminent Chief Guest Mr Kishore Singh Chauhan - a multifaceted personality who has straddled the fields of Defence, Scouting, Sports, Games, Marketing, Films and Theatre. He inspired one and all with his patriotic zeal and words of wisdom. We also had the principal of GIIS Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as our Special guest- Captain Dr Dinisha Bhardwaj Singh. Her expertise in the field of education and defence made her another apt guest for the occasion. The formal event was followed by a cultural extravaganza in which our children from all classes glowed like diamonds expressing their love for the Motherland and their unique talents. From the keyboard to the drums to speeches and role-plays, our children excelled and proved that it is never too early to show their patriotism. All of us came away with the message that patriots need to be nurtured in schools for a better tomorrow.

Pre- Primary students observed “The Know India Week” which reinforced the maxim of making the young one’s awareness and feel for their country.

Raksha Bandhan the popular festival that represents the strong between siblings was another highlight of the month. Students of all grades kept their cultural roots alive adding their own modern touches to the festival.

Virtual PTM’s have become the order of the day and our parents and teachers have successfully forged bonds without losing the true essence of an offline engagement. Structured discussions about the progress of the child are held at regular intervals and help in strengthening the parent-teacher relationship.

GSF celebrates 20 years of its inception next year and we at GIIS Bannerghatta have planned a grand live event next month, preparations for which are in full swing. I look forward to robust participation from our parent fraternity too to add to the celebratory mood. Thank you in advance and let's all work towards making this a memorable occasion for our children and the school.

Regards,

Dr Sharmila Mallick Choudhuri
