Words of Wisdom: GIIS Ahmedabad Alumni Inspired The Next Batch of Board Toppers

The Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) at GIIS Ahmedabad was filled with sparkling energy as the school hosted its latest Youth Lecture Series as part of the Global One Alumni network. The session brought together four esteemed alumni to mentor 10th and 12th-grade students preparing for their forthcoming 2026-27 Board Examinations.

This meaningful event beautifully brought to life the core values of the GIIS 9 Gems Framework by blending Leadership, Academic Excellence, and Personality Development, allowing former students to pass the torch of knowledge to the next generation of learners.

The insightful morning session began with Principal Mr. Caesar D'Silva taking centre stage. Welcoming the guest speakers back to their alma mater, he shared inspiring words of wisdom. He urged the students to seize every learning opportunity that comes their way, motivating them to strike a healthy balance by working hard for academic success while going the extra mile in co-curricular activities to build a well-rounded personality.

The core of the session featured practical, firsthand advice as each alumnus shared their personal roadmap to success.

Prushti Dalsania (Batch of 2023-24) commenced the speeches by advising students to start early and solve question banks to avoid a stressful workload before Prelims. She also emphasised building self-discipline through study schedules and attempting early entrance tests and scholarship tests to get ahead of the curve.

Next, Samiksha Dey (Batch of 2023-24) shifted the graph towards mental focus and strategy. She urged students to avoid comparisons with peers and instead write multiple mock tests to master writing speed and adapt to the official Board style.

Bringing a perspective from higher competitive education, Dhyey Buch (Batch of 2025-26), currently studying at IIT Gandhinagar, shared his experience balancing the rigorous demands of both JEE and Board exams. He urged students to read their NCERT textbooks thoroughly, as it is the ultimate foundation for success.

Concluding the speeches, Nachiket Bhatnagar (Batch of 2025-26) encouraged the existing students to prepare wholeheartedly and give their absolute best. He reminded them that putting maximum effort into the 12th Board Examination will help secure a place in their dream higher education institute. It will eventually lay a stable foundation for a successful career and a balanced, rewarding life.

While highlighting different strategies, all four alumni enthusiastically agreed with each other's points, emphasising that a mix of planning, discipline, inner focus, and strong concepts forms the ultimate formula for success.

The floor then opened into a lively, interactive Question & Answer session, where eager students cleared their doubts about stress management and time allocation. The event wrapped up on a high note as Principal Sir felicitated all four alumni and thanked them for mentoring their juniors. The lecture series left the students deeply motivated and ready to tackle their academic milestones confidently
