A tangible sense of anticipation filled the school auditorium on 18th July 2026 as GIIS Ahmedabad gathered to celebrate one of the most solemn and inspiring milestones on the academic calendar: the annual Investiture Ceremony. 

The grand event marked the official pinning of sashes and conferring of responsibilities upon the newly elected Student Council, house leaders, prefects, and faculty mentors for the 2026-2027 academic session. It stood as a testament to our school’s commitment to nurturing authentic youth leadership, strategic thinking, and personal accountability right from the classroom floor.

Leadership at GIIS Ahmedabad is built on the belief that authority begins with service. To ensure every student across both operational shifts receives an equal voice and representation, the school established two fully parallel student council bodies. 

Dedicated leadership teams were elected through a transparent process for both the Morning and Afternoon shifts. This ensures that every student benefits from direct peer representation, structured mentorship, and active student-led governance.

The occasion was further elevated by the esteemed presence of our distinguished Chief Guests across both sessions. 

Mr. Renjith G, Senior Instructor of the Military Band at SNPBMB, Rashtriya Raksha University, graced the morning shift ceremony. Mr. Gaurav Singh Kushwah, Director at the School of NCC and Police Martial Music Band, blessed the afternoon shift ceremony. Their inspirational presence and words of wisdom instilled a deep sense of discipline, honour, and duty among the young leaders.

Across both shifts, student leaders took their solemn oaths in the presence of these honoured guests, pledging to uphold integrity, foster empathy, and lead their peers by example.

The conferred positions reflect a well-balanced governance model. At the helm, newly minted Head Boys, Head Girls, Deputy Heads, Discipline Heads, and Sports Captains will oversee major student initiatives. Supporting them are dedicated Captains and Vice Captains across the four house wings: Chrysanthemum, Hibiscus, Orchid, and Sunflower. 

Additionally, class Prefects from Grades 6 through 11 were inducted to ensure clear communication channels between student cohorts and school management.

Recognising that great student leaders thrive under guidance, the ceremony also formally acknowledged the vital role of the faculty. Specialised House Mentors spanning primary to senior grades, alongside dedicated Discipline In-Charge Teachers, took their positions to guide the young leaders throughout the new academic year.

Under their strategic vision, Principal Caesar D'Silva and Vice Principals Monita Dash and Ronak Purohit, along with Chief Guests, entrusted a sacred responsibility through the solemn pinning of badges. 

The 2026-2027 Student Council stood tall in their blazers and took the oath, ready to leave a lasting mark on campus life. As they stepped confidently into their roles, the auditorium resonated with proud applause, ushering in a promising year of student-led excellence.
