Dear GIIS Community,
As I walk through our campus corridors, I recall September as a month filled with joy, growth, and remarkable achievements. As always, GIIS Ahmedabad didn't stay within classroom walls. Over the past four weeks, our campus saw students embrace emotional well-being, celebrate our rich traditions, express heartfelt gratitude to our educators, and bring glory to GIIS Ahmedabad across state, national, and international stages.
September unfolded with deep cultural reverence as we celebrated Janmashtami on 3rd September. The entire campus radiated festive warmth with devotional music, traditional attire, and a high-energy Matki Phod event. Carrying this spiritual momentum into our morning assemblies, Grade 8A scholars delivered Sanskrit shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita with remarkable eloquence, reminding us to manage negative impulses and overcome overthinking.
We celebrated Teachers' Day on 5th September across both shifts, putting deep gratitude at the forefront. Our teaching staff honoured each other through singing and dance performances. To top it off, we did a beautiful campus-wide felicitation of all our devoted faculty, Academic Coordinators, and Vice Principals.
Adding to this pride, our dedicated educators were also recognised at the prestigious IIHM Teachers' Day Awards for their exemplary contribution to holistic schooling. The cherry on the cake was the Teachers' Day assemblies. Our students in Grades 4D MS, 2D AS, and 7B AS presented creative skits that flipped the lens to depict classroom life from an educator's viewpoint. These thoughtful enactments brought light-hearted laughter while deepening mutual respect across generations.
As the second half of the month arrived, our halls welcomed the divine spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi alongside National Sports Day and World Peace Day. Grade 2A MS scholars led the school through peaceful meditation and an Aarti, while Grade 8B MS closed the month with an artistic portrayal of Lord Ganesha.
Meanwhile, Grade 7F MS highlighted the value of face-to-face friendships over screen time, and Grade 1B MS guided us through essential self-care habits. On the sports field, Grade 5D AS demonstrated that mutual trust turns individual effort into collective victory. Grade 2B AS earned a standing ovation for showing how a mindful pause defuses conflict.
A significant highlight of our parental partnership came on 26th September with the My Learning Checkpoint for Term 1 across the Global Montessori Plus (GMP) segments in both morning and afternoon shifts. Parents stepped directly into the classroom and engaged in curated activities alongside their children. They gained a firsthand view of how our young scholars grasp concepts, respond, and thrive in their daily learning environment. This sense of involvement echoed in our K2C class assembly, where parents joined us for a heartwarming showcase of the joy of sharing.
These values of discipline and focus within campus translated directly into extraordinary victories outside our walls. Internationally, our scholars achieved stellar recognition at the GED and MCOP event in Singapore, winning awards across Junior, Middle, Team, and Eco Champion categories.
On the sports front, Aditri Shome became the Under-15 State Chess Champion, with Aarav Kumar securing second rank, earning both grandmasters a spot at the National Chess Championship. Meanwhile, Savnir Kaur and Dhyani Brahmniwala won Bronze Medals at the CBSE West Zone Cricket Trials in Bhopal. Adding to our athletic glory, our young footballers delivered stellar performances at the ARA Futures League 2026, where the Under-14 Football Team emerged as Champions, and the Under-17 Team secured the Runners-Up trophy.
None of these milestones would be possible without our scholars' determination and dedication, and the unwavering support of our parent body. My heartfelt gratitude goes to every parent who took the time to attend our assemblies and classroom checkpoints, reinforcing the vital bridge between home and school. To our brilliant students, thank you for consistently giving your absolute best and lifting GIIS Ahmedabad to newer heights.
As we step into October with renewed vigour and optimism, I look forward to the next chapter of shared learning, festive enthusiasm, and academic excellence together.
Warm Regards,
Caesar D'Silva
