“Books are mirrors: You only see in them what you already have inside you.” Carlos Ruiz

The Global Indian International School (GIIS) Ahmedabad organized a Scholastic Book Fair for students to develop an interest in reading, find meaningful stories, and discover insights and subject-related material from varied books by different writers . . The Book Fair was organized by the Scholastic Publication under the mentorship of Library In-charges Ms. Kavita Joshi and Ms. Mitali Gajjar. The Fair was inaugurated by the GIIS Ahmedabad Principal, Mr. Caesar D’silva, Vice Principal - Ms. Gayatri Moras, and Headmistress - Ms. Ruchika Dhingra.

A variety of books of all disciplines of education were showcased for browsing by students, teachers, and parents as well. Books were grouped according to grade level which made it easy for students to find the characters and subjects they love to read. A variety of books of all disciplines including Science, Technology, Literature, Biography, and more were displayed during the GIIS Ahmedabad Book Fair.

In order to add value to the Book Fair, a lot of brain-sharpening activities like India Quiz, Geronimo Road Mazz, Favorite Book Review, and Naming the Freedom Fighters among others were arranged.

During the Book Fair, the students were given a Book Wish List in which they had to write the name of the books to buy. The highlight of this Book Fair was the Star Readers Certificate won by Grade 3D (Morning Shift) and Grade 4C (Afternoon Shift) for buying the maximum number of books. The Scholastic Publication awarded free books to the four lucky draw winners - Aatman Dave (4A-AS), Kavya Jain (5A-AS), and Aahna Shukla (3E-MS), and Ved Bhadania (3D-MS).

Principal, Mr. D’silva said, “The Book Fair of GIIS Ahmedabad always has the same splendid taste of nostalgia. I am extremely delighted to see the overwhelming response to the event. This year, GIIS Ahmedabad Book Fair was truly beneficial for the readers who bought about 1600 books.  Through this Book Fair, our students have learned that books are our best friends and companions that enlarge our vision and make our lives more meaningful."
