The Multi-Purpose Hall at GIIS Ahmedabad was filled with enthusiasm as the school hosted a comprehensive Global Montessori Plus Familiarisation Workshop for parents of newly admitted 99 Kindergarten students for the 2026-27 academic year. The event provided participating families with an immersive look into the campus culture, academic framework, and faculty, setting a collaborative foundation for young learners embarking on their educational journey.  

The workshop began with a warm welcome and a light icebreaker activity conducted by Coordinator Ms Ritu Srivastava, helping parents feel present, relaxed, and engaged. This was followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by Principal Mr Caesar D'Silva, faculty members, and parents to invoke blessings, after which the gathering joined in singing the school prayer and school anthem. 

Principal Mr Caesar D'Silva then addressed the audience, reflecting on the creation of the school anthem and explaining the institution's signature 9 Gems Framework. He highlighted the vital importance of early childhood development across academic, social, emotional, physical, and creative dimensions, emphasising that teaching healthy daily habits and etiquette requires a strong partnership between home and school. 

Vice Principal Ms Ruchika Dhingra provided insightful details on the National Education Policy and demonstrated how parents can utilise the Smart Learn platform to receive regular updates on their child's growth. She walked the parents through the Montessori apparatus, curriculum planning, and socio-emotional learning, while outlining how language, literacy, and physical development evolve as children progress through the grades. 

After that, interactive music and movement sessions brought joy to the hall as Music tutor Ms Niyati and dance tutor Ms Prachi led parents in singing and simple dance steps. They accentuated how creative expression improves daily well-being.

The academic segment featured hands-on classroom demonstrations by teachers, allowing parents to experience the practical strategies used to introduce and reinforce concepts. To enhance this learning experience, teachers performed an engaging skit that showcased the importance of language and literacy, focusing on phonics-based methods designed for early childhood education. 

Coordinator Ms. Ritu Srivastava then introduced the dedicated faculty members to the parents. She also walked them through the essential school policies, learning approaches, and codes of conduct to ensure a secure, respectful environment. 

The workshop concluded on an interactive note with parents providing paperless feedback through a quick QR code scan, wrapping up a highly productive morning of community building and shared vision.
