All good things come in small packages, and so do gems! 10-year-old Mann Shah, a rare gem of GIIS Ahmedabad has had an exceptional record of acing in Olympiads this year!

Mann Shah, a student of Grade 6, GIIS Ahmedabad bagged the Global Gold Medal in Singapore & Asian School Math Olympiad (SASMO) with AIR 1 and Gold Medal in Southeast Asian Math Olympiad (SEAMO) with AIR 2. Also, he got selected for Second Level National Mathematics Talent Contest (NMTC).

Singapore & Asian School Math Olympiad (SASMO) is a math olympiad contest that stretches not only the brightest students but is aimed at instilling confidence for all students. The contest is designed in a way to make every student love Math again. SASMO contest fits nicely into the school curriculum with a high focus on non-routine problems and questions; preparing for the SASMO contest helps students prepare for the PSLE and O-Level exams.

SASMO is one of the largest math contests in Asia and caters to the top 40% of the student population, and it aims to arouse students’ interest in mathematical problem solving to develop mathematical intuition, reasoning, logic, creativity, and critical thinking.

Mann has been interested in mathematics since his kindergarten days, and he loved solving problems. He has a sharp inquisitive mind and an indefatigable thirst for knowledge. One can’t help but be stumped by his intelligence!

Interestingly, he has several other titles at his credit such as International Rank 3 in International Olympiad of Maths (IOM Silverzone), Zonal Rank 1 in International Olympiad of English (IEOL Silverzone), Zonal Rank 3 in International Olympiad of Science (IOS Silverzone), and Zonal Rank 1 in Unified International English Olympiad (UIEO by Unified Council). Among his other accomplishments include the Award of the Youngest Rubik Cube Solver at Amalthea Open Competition by IIT Gandhinagar.
