“Festivals are an expression of joy, gratitude, and togetherness that bring humanity closer.” - Dr. S. Radhakrishnan
Echoing this profound reflection by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the Global Indian International School, Ahmedabad, celebrated Christmas as a festival that united hearts and reinforced the values of love, compassion, and sharing. The Christmas celebrations presented by students across different grades were not just festive programmes but meaningful expressions of gratitude, cultural harmony, and value-based learning.
The celebrations began with Grade 2I, where the young learners presented a joyful and thoughtful assembly. A beautifully enacted Nativity skit depicted the birth of Lord Jesus, spreading the message of peace and hope. It was followed by an engaging presentation on ‘Who is Santa Claus?’, introducing students to the inspiring story of St. Nicholas and the true meaning of giving. Melodious carol singing and energetic dance performances added vibrancy and festive cheer, leaving the audience delighted.
Class 3A - Afternoon Shift presented a heart-warming Christmas assembly that included an enactment of the birth of Lord Jesus, melodious carol singing, and a meaningful skit titled ‘Little Joy’, highlighting how small acts of kindness can bring great happiness. Their lively dance performance on ‘Jingle Bell’ filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm and joy.
The celebrations continued with Class 5F - Morning Shift, whose choir performance and graceful dance beautifully expressed the joy and gratitude associated with Christmas. Their skit on the birth of Jesus Christ conveyed a powerful message of love, humility, kindness, and sharing, reminding everyone of the values that define the true spirit of the festival.
Adding depth to the celebrations, Class 6D - Afternoon Shift presented a well-crafted Christmas drama accompanied by melodious carols and expressive dance performances. The drama highlighted how light overcomes darkness, and goodness triumphs over evil, while also showcasing students’ teamwork, confidence, creativity, and communication skills.
Addressing the gathering, the respected Principal shared an inspiring message, stating, “True celebration lies in caring for others and spreading positivity through our actions. Even small acts of kindness have the power to bring big changes in society.” He encouraged students to practice compassion, respect, and empathy in their daily lives.
The Christmas celebrations at GIIS Ahmedabad concluded on a joyful and reflective note, reaffirming the school’s commitment to holistic education that nurtures academic excellence along with strong moral values and social responsibility.
