“Learning something new is a fabulous way to be refreshed. When work can grind you down, something about learning a new activity thrills the soul. It reminds you that the world is bigger than your desk and your to-do list.” - John Ortberg
Outbound activities like adventure camps and sports for students are very much required as these involve fitness and helps maintain the physical and mental balance of a student. GIIS believes that outdoor activities can help refresh the mind while increasing productivity and also encourage students to work in a different environment while building team spirit, friendship and trust amongst each other.
Conducted by a team of highly qualified experts, recently, an amazing Adventure Camp was organized by Global Indian International School (GIIS) Ahmedabad, especially designed for the students.
Around 45 students along with their respective teachers, left on 15th March 2018 and reached Delhi Station at noon. Soon they boarded the Bus to Panipat and after a scrumptious dinner, left for their destination, Manali.
During the camp, the students were exposed to a number of exhilarating activities such as Rock Climbing, Rappelling, River Crossing, Zip-Lining and River Water Rafting in the Vyas River.
A spirit of team work was inculcated through team building games and the students participated enthusiastically in the day-long fun-filled activities at the Kiya Camp Tent.
They also visited places such as the famous Hidamba Temple, the beautiful and relaxing Hot Water springs, places such as Gulaba (a snow point near the Rohtang Pass), the Gurudwaras and the hot caves of Manikaran and Kullu Valley. Trekking to the Solong Valley was also on the cards.
This trip is bound to be etched in the memories of all the students who were a part of the camp. It was an amazing and thrilling experience for sure.
The main reason to organize this camp was to have students live together in an unfamiliar but healthy and safe environment while training them to listen attentively and follow instructions responsibly. They spent quality time with friends and teachers, and enjoyed simple camp pleasures together like a small community.
