July, The Month of Learning Continium: Adapting Seamlessly, Leading Courageously

Dear Parents,

Greetings from GIIS Ahmedabad!

July has proven to be a defining month for our school community. It is marked by adaptability, emergent leadership, and a renewed commitment to foundational skills.

In education, true excellence is not tested when everything runs smoothly, but when we are called to adapt seamlessly.

Learning Continium — when severe monsoon weather and waterlogging challenged our city, our priority remained clear: keeping learning uninterrupted while ensuring our children’s safety. Switching to our virtual classrooms within hours wasn’t just a logistical execution by our teachers and leadership team; it was a testament to our community’s resilience. It also demonstrated that no weather challenges can affect children’s education at GIIS Ahmedabad.

Seeing our young learners celebrate Virtual Friendship Day during that phase by exchanging handmade bands, sketches, and digital warm wishes across screens reminded us that meaningful connections and emotional growth transcend physical boundaries.

Building on this spirit of community, July also marked one of our most prestigious events: the Investiture Ceremony for the Academic Year 2026–27 across both our Morning and Noon shifts. Swearing in our Student Council members, House Captains, Class Prefects, and Disciplinary Teams was a proud moment for all of us.

Having distinguished leaders: Mr Renjith G and Lt. (Dr) Gaurav Singh Kushwah, as our chief guests, inspired our students and reinforced a core GIIS value: leadership is not about titles, but about accountability, service, and guiding peers by example.

This momentum was further amplified through the GIIS Youth Lecture Series, where four of our talented alumni returned to campus to guide and inspire our upcoming board exam batches. Additionally, we welcomed our newest families into our early childhood framework through the interactive GMP Familiarisation Workshop, laying a strong foundation for home-school partnership.

Our vibrant culture of experiential learning and student-led assemblies shone brightly across all grade levels this month. Our assemblies served as powerful platforms for critical thinking and national pride, with Grade 7A (MS) tackling "AI: Friend or Foe," Grade 5E (MS) addressing digital balance, Grade 5A (MS) honouring Kargil Vijay Diwas, and Grade 2C (AS) celebrating Van Mahotsav Day.

Additionally, joy and imagination took centre stage as Grade 1A (MS) presented "The Power of Imagination & Play." Grade 2A (MS) celebrated International Moon Day, International Chess Day, and National Ice-Cream Day, and our GMP kindergarteners spread smiles on World Emoji Day.

Beyond the stage, Grade 3 (MS) students engaged in an impactful Walk Drive and upcycled waste materials into masks and props for a hands-on Food Chain Role Play. Our students also spent meaningful time in our library reading spaces. They discovered socio-emotional growth through a powerful lesson on kindness that, just like squeezed-out toothpaste, harsh words once spoken can never be taken back.

Together, these diverse experiences vividly demonstrate the core of our 9 Gems Framework—balancing Academic Excellence, Sports, Innovation, Values, Leadership, and Universal Ethics.

As we reach the midpoint of the year, we are excited for the upcoming events in the months ahead, reaffirming our commitment to providing every child with the platforms they need to showcase their unique talents and skills.

We look forward to a memorable academic year ahead filled with happiness, success, and transformative learning as we continue to nurture tomorrow’s global citizens.

Warm Regards,

Mr Caesar D’Silva,

Principal, GIIS Ahmedabad
