The summer break at GIIS Ahmedabad came to a joyful end as our halls once again filled with the bright smiles and laughter of returning students.

Coming back to school after a long vacation can sometimes feel a bit sluggish for children. To shake off that holiday sleepiness and commence the new term with high energy, the school decided to do something special. We celebrated the very first morning assembly of the year by pairing it with World Music Day at our Multi-Purpose Hall.

The morning began with a wonderful surprise. What seemed like a routine instrument check by our music teacher quickly turned into an unexpected, school-wide sing-along. Within seconds, the entire auditorium was filled with music as students joined in, instantly melting away any morning tiredness and bringing everyone into the present moment.

Once the music settled, our school counsellor welcomed the children back to their second home. She shared a gentle, loving reminder about taking pride in their campus, guiding them on the importance of keeping classrooms clean and caring for school property. A quick, fun clapping game followed, filling the room with giggles and focused attention.

True to the GIIS spirit of building leadership, our Grade 5 students took complete charge of the stage. They handled the entire morning routine with immense confidence, from leading the morning prayers to sharing a beautiful thought of the day and updating their peers on the national & global news.

The young leaders then delighted the audience with their creativity. They performed a hilarious comedy skit and a playful rhyme that taught everyone how musical notes are created.

The excitement reached a peak when the Grade 5 team surprised everyone with a spectacular fusion dance. Dressed in traditional classical attire, they began with graceful classical moves before smoothly switching into a high-energy rock song, getting the whole crowd cheering and clapping along.

Later, our Principal and Vice-Principal, Ms. Ruchika, stepped up to welcome everyone back. They spoke beautifully about how music isn’t just fun; it is a wonderful tool to help children relax, find joy, and focus better on their daily studies.

The energetic morning wrapped up with a very vibrant celebration of our academic stars. We honoured the students who achieved top ranks in recent Olympiads, including the iOM, iOS, NLRO, and iSSO. To make it more memorable, we invited their parents onto the stage to share the moment. Seeing the proud smiles and tears of pure joy on parents' faces was the perfect ending to a heartwarming morning.

We are so thrilled to have our students back and look forward to a fantastic year of learning ahead.
