The students of GIIS Ahmedabad outshine at the Mini-Football Championship 6-A-Side League cum Knockout Matches Tournament, held to promote the game of football. Morning Shift (MS) and Afternoon Shift (AS) students competed in the tournament in U-9, U-11, and U-13 categories

GIIS Ahmedabad AS students in the U-9 category won the championship trophy and defeated their friends from the morning shift with a score of 2-0. The morning shift (MS) students of GIIS Ahmedabad bagged the first runner-up position. The school students from the morning shift competing in the U-11 category won the trophy by defeating Savita Football Club with a score of 2-1. 

In the U-9 category, Praneet Joshi (from the afternoon shift) won the title of Top Goal Scorer. Divyesh Gujarati (from the morning shift won) the Best Player title, while Nirvaan Bhandari was felicitated with the title - Best Goalkeeper respectively. Shiv Rudani and Kavya Ranjan from the morning shift bagged the title of ‘Best Defender of the Tournament’ and ‘Best Goal Keeper’ respectively.

Mr. Tarun Mehra, State Secretary of the Mini-Football Association, Gujarat, said, “It was a private grass-root level competition for all the football clubs to recognise the hidden talents and appreciate them. Around 38 clubs competed across all three categories. We will try to conduct the district-level and state-level competitions to promote football.”
