GIIS Ahmedabad champions continue to strive for excellence with every upcoming event and tournament. Currently, two of our students - Shresth Sharma (8A-MS) and Vinayak Pathak (8B-AS) have achieved a milestone in the basketball tournament. Showcasing exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork at the SGFI U-14 State Basketball Tournament, they have earned a well-deserved spot in the prestigious National Training Camp.

Competing amongst 24 top players across the state, our GIIS Ahmedabad champions emerged victorious and earned a spot in the SGFI U-14 Boys National Basketball Tournament representing Gujarat state. SGFI national level tournament is being organized in Chhattisgarh from 17th to 22nd November 2024 wherein Shresth and Vinayak will compete against the best players of the country.

This incredible achievement has been possible with the expert guidance of Jasvantsinh Darbar, whose dedication to mentoring young athletes has been truly inspiring. GIIS Ahmedabad’s commitment to holistic excellence, supported by its state-of-the-art sports facilities, has also played a vital role in shaping this success.

“Shresth’s selection in the SGFI National Tournament is a demonstration of the school’s excellent sports programme and the dedication of the coaching staff, especially Jasvant sir,” said Mr. Ram Sharma, Shresth’s proud father!

Vinayak’s father, Mr. Sachin Pathak stated, “We are extremely proud and happy for my son’s selection in the Basketball tournament. Vinayak’s basketball journey began in elementary school and it has brought us countless joyous moments in the family. Watching him play basketball has always been a cherished experience - we would pack snacks, soft drinks, and essentials and head out as a family to cheer him on the field.”  He further added, “We are deeply grateful to the dedicated coach and staff of GIIS Ahmedabad for nurturing his talent and providing him with a platform to excel in his favourite sport.”
