These powerful words from India’s Grandmaster and former World Chess Champion, Vishwanathan Anand, perfectly capture the spirit displayed by our young achievers at the Zonal Level Khel Mahakumbh Chess Tournament. Their victory is a reflection of foresight, strategy, and calm composure, qualities that define not only great chess players but successful individuals.

Held at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Naranpura, the tournament showcased exceptional talent on the chessboard. GIIS Ahmedabad students delivered remarkable performances across categories, demonstrating sharp intellect, tactical understanding, and unwavering focus. Their achievements have earned them well-deserved positions at the District Level, showcasing the school’s commitment to nurturing excellence.

In the Under-17 Girls category, Dharmi Parmar secured 1st place, followed closely by Margi Chudasama in 2nd place, both advancing to the district level. The U-17 Boys category saw Aatman Raval clinching 1st rank with an impressive performance. 

In the U-14 Boys, Ansh Maheshwari achieved 2nd rank, earning a place at the next level of the competition. Among the younger categories, Ziaana Patel from U-11 Girls secured 1st rank, while Samyra Ghariya finished strong with 5th rank. From the U-11 Boys, Ishayu Maji secured 3rd rank, and Zian Karandikar followed with 4th rank, both showcasing exceptional clarity of thought and competitive spirit.

A heartfelt appreciation goes to Mr. Ashok Solanki, whose guidance, continuous training, and expert mentorship have been instrumental in shaping these young chess champions.
