We, at GIIS Ahmedabad, believe in creating a theme-based learning environment for students to enhance their learning abilities. As per the research, this thematic study approach helps the children to connect efficiently and encourage their learning spirit. Considering that, GIIS Ahmedabad had organized a ‘Spirit Week’ for GMP students. The week-long activities and events had a combination of conceptual knowledge, values, celebration, and fun.

On the first day of the week, a STEM-based activity was planned for K2 students. The ‘Budding Teaching’ concept was introduced wherein students had to teach the concept to their classmates. Every month, a group of students will be given an opportunity to teach a concept to their buddies.

We believe that every child is special and therefore, the theme for the Children’s Day celebration was ‘Childhood - the most beautiful season in one’s life. During the special day, the kindergarteners were dressed in ‘party attire’, and parents were requested to send their child's favorite food for lunch. A special camel cart ride was also organized which was thoroughly enjoyed by students. An array of fun-filled activities were planned in the classroom to make it memorable for the tiny tots. 

During Kindness Day, children made an attempt to make this world a better place by promoting acts of kindness. A special assembly was also conducted by the teachers to educate the children about the importance of kindness. Sharing Day was also organized wherein some GMP children and parents were requested to send food for their classmates. 

In order to inculcate the value of team spirit, GIIS Ahmedabad organized ‘School Color Day’ wherein the kindergarteners were asked to wear T-shirts of any one of the five colors in the school logo.

The theme of the month was Animal Kingdom and to reinforce the concept, GIIS Ahmedabad organized an Animal Safari field trip to the aquatic gallery for the young ones.. A speak-up activity was also conducted in the class wherein students had to dress like their favorite animal and speak some lines about it.

On this occasion of ‘Spirit Week’ the Principal, Mr. Caesar D’silva said, “It is important to inculcate the values of kindness and togetherness. The Almighty has instilled these values in all the kids. GIIS Ahmedabad will always strive to keep it alive. I am sure that these children had a very learning week experience."
