GIIS Ahmedabad October 2026 Reflections: A Living Celebration of Values, Intellect, & Unity

Dear GIIS Community,

October at GIIS Ahmedabad has been a month of extraordinary momentum, where ancient wisdom and futuristic discovery walked hand in hand across our campus. As I reflect on the vibrant weeks gone by, I am struck by how naturally our community turns everyday learning into a living celebration of values, intellect, and human connection.

Our journey through October began with a profound reminder of our moral foundation during our Gandhi Jayanti observances. Our Grade 3 MS students brought Bapu’s timeless ideals to life on stage while reinforcing that non-violence is an active daily practice in our classrooms and on our playgrounds. It set a serene and purposeful tone for the entire month.

This spirit of reflection seamlessly expanded into our festive assemblies, where our Grade 1C MS and Grade 5G MS learners explored moral courage through the divine narrative of Maa Durga and Ramayan. Through theatrical performances and traditional Garba, our students showcased that our rich cultural heritage provides an enduring compass for virtuous living.

Beyond our campus gates, our educational philosophy embraces the world as an endless classroom. Over 250 Grade 8 MS & AS students visited the Vikram Sarabhai Space Education and Research Centre at ISRO, Ahmedabad, to experience firsthand how mathematics, physics, and computer science converge to solve cosmic challenges. Seeing our students interact directly with scientists reinforced our belief that early scientific inquiry cultivates the ambitious mindset required for global leadership.

This spirit of exploration extended across grades 8 to 12 through our senior educational picnics to Jawai, Sasan Gir, Polo Forest, and Ranakpur, as well as our faculty retreat to Kumbhalgarh and Haldighati. These journeys remind us that learning, camaraderie, and personal growth happen just as dynamically in nature as they do within structured classrooms.

A landmark highlight of the month was our five-day Cultural Immersion Program, where we had the privilege of hosting student and teacher delegations from GIIS Balewadi and Witty Malad. From intense Gen Z problem-solving during IDEATE 5.0 to exploring detailed state heritage replicas created by our Grade 3 to 5 MS scholars, our campus blossomed into a hub of cross-cultural harmony. The energy culminated during our two-day Global Raas Utsav, where students, staff, and visiting delegates joined together on our football ground in rhythmic celebration. These shared moments remind us that bridging geographical boundaries nurtures the empathetic global citizenship our world so urgently needs.

Just like cultural immersion, our commitment to nurturing articulate, self-reliant individuals resonated through our special assemblies and parent engagement initiatives. From Grade 8C AS scholars exploring Gandhian self-reliance through their Rohan's Dream of 2047 skit to Grade 4C AS learners delivering an urgent message on planetary stewardship through their Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam presentation, our students consistently gave voice to big ideas.

Our youngest learners in the Global Montessori Plus segment captivated visiting families with their scientific curiosity during their Save Earth, Save Life and Curious Minds assemblies. Bringing parents directly into our auditorium to witness their children's growth creates a vital bridge between home and school, establishing genuine partnerships that enrich our early childhood framework.

This spirit of excellence and community naturally extended into our campus events and competitive arenas. Bringing our families together for Grandparents Day, our annual Pet Show, and our festive Diwali gatherings showcased the warmth and inclusivity that define GIIS Ahmedabad. Towards the end of October, our auditorium became a musical spectacle during the Band IT competition hosted with the Furtados School of Music, where student performers across the city flaunted breathtaking artistic talent.

Our scholars mirrored this dedication through stellar achievements on the sports field and in co-curricular arenas. Our football teams showed remarkable grit at the Rising Sun League, where our Under-17 boys successfully retained their championship title. Our Under-14, Under-10, and Under-8 cohorts displayed strong podium finishes.

On the chessboard, Margi Chudasama claimed the Under-19 State Championship title, while Ansh Maheshwari and Ayaan Chettiar earned national qualifications. This was complemented by our Under-11 girls' team securing a prestigious fifth rank at the CBSE Nationals. In athletics, gold medal performances highlight the athletic discipline thriving across our campus.

Furthermore, our institution's dedication to quality and parent partnership earned global recognition with the Asia-Pacific Quality Organisation Silver Prize for our Parent Engagement Project, along with a distinguished citation from Logiquids.

These accomplishments embody the guidance of our dedicated faculty and the unwavering encouragement of our parent body. As we look ahead, let us continue to nurture curiosity, honour our shared values, and empower our young visionaries to lead with integrity, compassion, and excellence.

Warm Regards,

Caesar D’Silva
