The Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad, in collaboration with the Rising Youth Network India (RYN), successfully hosted the third edition of its prestigious Model United Nations conference – GIIS-RYN MUN 3.0. Held for three days, the conference brought together more than 500 delegates from 60 schools across India, transforming the GIIS campus into a hub of debate, diplomacy, and global collaboration.

Inspiring Start with Delegates

The opening ceremony was graced by eminent personalities, including Mr. Amit Thaker, Member of Gujarat Legislative Assembly; Mr. Sanjay MS Raval, acclaimed Gujarati speaker, author, and filmmaker; and Mr. Chiranjiv Patel, entrepreneur and MD of PC Snehal Group, who has represented India at the UN. Their words encouraged delegates to use this platform not only to debate policies, but also to cultivate the mindset of leaders who can drive change.

Debates That Mattered

Delegates represented diverse schools from Ahmedabad, Surat, Gandhinagar, Baroda, Pune, Delhi, and various GIIS campuses, alongside participants from Glendale International School, Hyderabad, GIIS Noida, and GIIS Balewadi. With 100 delegates from GIIS Ahmedabad alone, the school showcased its strong commitment to nurturing leadership.

The committees tackled urgent global and national issues such as:

• The legal framework for religious endowments in India
• Rising threats to national security
• Gujarat’s roadmap to achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2030
• Human rights in South Asia
• International framework for addressing cybersecurity challenges

A dedicated Journalism & Photography committee added another dimension, allowing students to explore how media influences international affairs.

Building Leaders for Tomorrow

Reflecting on the event’s vision, Mr. Caesar D’silva, Principal of GIIS Ahmedabad, said, “GIIS-RYN MUN 3.0 is not just about academic debate; it is about shaping a generation of empathetic and forward-thinking leaders. The skills students gain here – negotiations, communication and critical thinking – will serve them for life.”
