In the present digital era that is increasingly dominated by screen-based interactions, the true essence of human connection through shared struggles, collective joy, and unconditional support remains the backbone of emotional resilience. GIIS Ahmedabad Grade 7F (Morning Shift) students brought this timeless truth to life by presenting a deeply moving assembly centred on the theme: "Friendship: Let’s Lift Each Other."
The programme began with insightful reflections from Academic Coordinator Mr Umesh Sharma, who underscored the irreplaceable role peer bonds play in enriching a child's academic and social journey. From collaborative exam preparation and note-sharing to athletic teamwork and performing arts rehearsals, genuine connections turn daily hurdles into shared victories. School life, at its core, is a collective ecosystem where no student is meant to walk alone.
The assembly progressed through traditional morning rituals. These included serene prayers, current affairs updates, thought of the day and reflective speeches on the assembly theme. It transitioned to a soulful vocal performance celebrating unity and trust. This musical tribute set the stage for a poignant dance drama. It depicted a student facing a setback after falling short of her academic targets. Her peers stepped in to offer comfort, empathy, and motivation, delivering a powerful visual representation of emotional safety in action. Real companions do not measure worth by marks, but by the strength they lend during challenging moments.
Adding energy to the narrative, a lively student-led skit captured familiar campus moments. Performers showcased how small acts of support build lasting bonds, such as calming presentation anxiety, sharing birthday sweets, cheering on team sports, and keeping each other focused during study sessions.
Concluding the event, Principal Mr Caesar D’Silva praised Grade 7F for their artistic execution and highlighted the deeper message within the dance showcase. He urged students to carry these supportive habits into adulthood. He stated that post-school life introduces heightened mental stress where solid personal networks become vital. He concluded by cautioning students against prioritising screen-based interactions over tangible relationships, reminding attendees that face-to-face connections build lasting emotional endurance.
This assembly reflects the core values of the GIIS Ahmedabad 9GEMS model, specifically Universal Values & Ethics, Personality Development, and Community & Care.
By integrating empathy directly into institutional culture, we prepare young minds to navigate future complexities with strength and integrity. When students learn to uplift their peers today, they become the resilient, compassionate leaders our global society needs tomorrow.
