School assemblies at GIIS Ahmedabad have long evolved beyond routine morning gatherings. They serve as dynamic platforms where young minds curate thought-provoking narratives to inspire, educate, and transform their peers. Through strategic thematic showcases, students take ownership of complex real-world concepts, translating abstract ideals into meaningful peer-led learning experiences.
Demonstrating this commitment to holistic development, the students of Class 7E Morning Shift hosted a powerful assembly centred on the theme of New Beginnings. It focused on goal setting, personal growth, and breaking away from unproductive habits.
The programme opened with insightful guidance from Coordinator Mr Umesh Sharma, who challenged students to reassess their daily routines. He urged the young audience to trade excessive screen time for skill acquisition and active participation in co-curricular activities. He emphasised that building a strong personal portfolio begins long before board examinations and university entrance tests.
Following the traditional morning rituals, news updates, and thematic speeches, the assembly transitioned into an artistic showcase. A soulful motivational song set an uplifting tone, which was quickly elevated by a high-energy dance performance.
The emotional core of the morning was a heart-touching and eye-opening drama performance depicting the hidden costs of procrastination. Through the skit, student performers illustrated how delaying studies, hobbies, and physical activity for laziness hinders personal growth.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Mr Caesar D'Silva commended the performers for their artistic execution and deep thematic clarity. Delivering a thought-provoking message on personal leadership, he urged students to set clear targets across both academic and athletic domains.
He shared valuable psychological insights on self-mastery. He explained that while the conscious mind frequently seeks comfort, immediate gratification, and distraction, true success relies on mastering the subconscious mind.
By developing disciplined habits and overcoming procrastination, students strengthen their mental resilience and character, which are required by top global universities and leading organisations for admission. He concluded by encouraging every learner to intentionally engage in activities that foster focus, self-awareness, and subconscious control.
By empowering students to lead conversations on self-discipline and purpose, GIIS Ahmedabad reinforces the belief that true education nurtures character alongside intellect. Assemblies like these remind the school community that every new day offers a fresh opportunity to reset goals, adopt positive habits, and step confidently toward a bright, fulfilled future.
