At GIIS Ahmedabad, preparing students for tomorrow’s leadership means instilling a deep-seated awareness of sustainable development and community harmony today. 

The Grade 7B MS class assembly showcased this pedagogical philosophy. It transformed a traditional morning gathering into a strategic exploration of Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and the core principles of World Peace Day.

The morning commenced with an engaging welcome by the student anchors, followed by a light warm-up exercise designed to ensure absolute mental presence and focus among students. After a serene school prayer, the thought of the day, and a roundup of national and global news, the platform turned toward youth-led advocacy. 

A student speaker delivered an insightful address on why SDG 6 is a foundational pillar for global stability. He also urged his peers to view natural resources through the lens of long-term stewardship. He also accentuated the urgency of water security.

Artistic expression served as the medium to turn these complex global frameworks into memorable narratives. An energetic dance performance brought the imperative of water conservation to life, seamlessly blending rhythm with message. 

The atmosphere transitioned into a melodic chorus when two student vocalists led a musical tribute to water sustainability, drawing the entire audience into a unison performance. The performers gracefully interwove the spirit of World Peace Day throughout the dance, music, and dramatic acts. They illustrated how environmental security and peaceful coexistence are fundamentally linked.

The energy peaked with a high-impact Nukkad Natak (street play). Through vivid storytelling and powerful dialogues, the drama team highlighted the necessity of conserving water while advocating for social brotherhood and peaceful resolution of conflict. The performance culminated in a collective pledge, with students committing to actionable water-saving practices and compassionate daily behaviour within their communities.

Reinforcing the strategic significance of the student presentations, Principal Mr Caesar D'Silva delivered key insights on resource management and personal responsibility. He reminded students that access to an uninterrupted water supply is a privilege that requires active gratitude. 

He also urged the school community to adopt practical conservation methods such as rainwater harvesting. Emphasising that environmental harmony begins with interpersonal peace, he encouraged everyone to practice kindness, politeness, and mutual respect with classmates, teachers, and neighbours alike.

The leadership discourse concluded with Vice Principal Ms Monita Dash and Coordinator Mr Umesh Sharma echoing the Principal’s call to action. They praised the Grade 7B performers for educating their peers through creative leadership. By embedding sustainable development and peacemaking into experiential learning, GIIS Ahmedabad continues to demonstrate how value-driven education equips young leaders to build a resilient and harmonious future.
