Long before children step out into the wider world, the seeds of empathy, kindness, and mutual regard are planted right here within our school hallways. Emphasising these foundational qualities, the young learners of Grade 3E (Morning Shift) presented a thought-provoking class assembly centred on the vital theme, "RESPECT: Everyone • Every time • Everywhere."

The morning began with a warm welcome from Ms. Anila James, Grade Coordinator, who set a meaningful tone for the gathering. She shared valuable life lessons, accentuating the significance of respecting everyone around us, regardless of whether they are younger, peers, or elders. She also reminded students about the deep value of listening attentively to their teachers, underscoring that true respect begins with honouring those who guide us daily.

Following the introductory message, the assembly moved smoothly into its regular morning rituals. The students indulged in a serene morning prayer. It was followed by an inspiring thought of the day aligned with the theme, global news updates, and a heartwarming speech and poem presented by the children.

The standout highlight of the assembly was a powerful, real-life skit depicting a familiar classroom scenario. The young actors portrayed a scene in which a teacher greets the class and gives instructions, but the students remain distracted and inattentive. 

Through their convincing performance, the children beautifully demonstrated the consequences of ignoring their mentors, ultimately driving home a strong message: respecting teachers means listening, obeying, and valuing their presence.

This heart-touching act seamlessly transitioned into a vibrant musical and dance performance that left the audience deeply moved. It illustrated real-life scenarios where students ignore and disrespect people around them, perceiving it as acceptable.

Appreciating the efforts of the young performers, Principal Mr Caesar D'Silva commended the students for bringing such an emotional and realistic narrative to the stage. He encouraged the gathering to carry respect beyond the classroom walls. He urged students to always greet their teachers and peers with a warm smile and a polite hello, even years after leaving school, rather than simply walking past them.

Building on this message, Vice Principal Ms Ruchika Dhingra inspired students to practise small, everyday acts of kindness. She reminded everyone that practising respect in daily life shapes a humble, polite, and grounded personality.

Through their presentations, the students beautifully unpacked what respect truly means in daily life. They highlighted the importance of respecting teachers who guide us, friends who support us, and our school.

It also brought the GIIS Ahmedabad 9GEMS framework to life, particularly Universal Values & Ethics, Personality Development, and Community & Care.

By embedding these principles into daily school life, the institution remains dedicated to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are respected, compassionate, and ready to make a positive impact on the world.
