The Multi-Purpose Hall at GIIS Ahmedabad came alive with motivational energy as the Grade 2F morning shift students hosted an inspirational assembly. The event brought together themes of health, space exploration, strategic thinking, and creative celebration, creating a surreal experience for everyone present.
The morning commenced with Coordinator Ms. Snigdha Mukherjee warmly welcoming young learners. Emphasising the importance of physical well-being early in life, she guided the students through targeted posture-correcting exercises and quick hand routines. This mindful session taught the children the value of maintaining a straight back for long-term health while ensuring they were flexible, focused, and mentally present for the day ahead.
The assembly highlighted two major observances: International Moon Day and World Chess Day. Student anchors took centre stage to share fascinating insights into celestial bodies, lunar history, and the strategic world of chess, enriching the audience’s knowledge.
Adding a fun twist to the gathering, the anchors also celebrated International Ice Cream Day. They engaged their peers in a lively interactive session about their favourite ice cream flavours. The hall quickly transformed into a stage of pure joy as students dressed in colourful ice cream-themed attire performed a cheerful dance.
The focus then shifted toward space achievements and India's growing footprint in space research. Two students presented key historical highlights, referencing famous space missions, such as Apollo 11 and Chandrayaan.
It was followed by a special dance performance dedicated to International Moon Day. The audience was captivated by student performers' impressive athletic moves and thrilling backflips. The excitement continued with an inspiring video screening that highlighted India's successful lunar orbit missions, Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3. We also recognised the exceptional efforts of ISRO scientists and astronauts who have made the nation proud on the global stage.
Vice Principal Ms Ruchika Dhingra praised the students for their enthusiastic participation. She shared inspiring thoughts on space science and highlighted the groundbreaking Vikram-1 achievement, on how young Indian students successfully launched a satellite into Earth's lower orbit. A video showcasing this remarkable milestone sparked immense pride across the venue.
Principal Mr Caesar D'Silva then took centre stage to encourage the young minds to stay curious, think big, and draw inspiration from India’s scientific milestones. The memorable morning concluded with a celebratory felicitation ceremony, where brilliant students were awarded Centre of Excellence certificates for their stellar performance in LogiQuids.
