Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration: GIIS Ahmedabad students worship Lord Ganesha for prosperity and wisdom

“Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi to spread the message of honesty and love through this world on this day when Lord Ganesha descended on this earth to kill evil.”

Echoing this festive spirit, the students of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with zeal and zest. As per Indian mythology, Ganesha is the first to be worshiped amongst all the Gods and is considered as a “Vighnaharta” remover of obstacles. He is the God of prosperity, Intelligence, and wisdom who spreads knowledge and happiness.

To seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the tiny tots of Nursery, K1 and K2 along with their teachers made Paper Mache Ganpati idols with dance and music. The little ones of K2B attired in yellow and orange presented an enchanting assembly enacting the childhood stories of Lord Ganesha. They were taught about “Ganesh Chaturthi'' through movies in their classes.

Grade 1 to 5 students vigorously participated in various Co-Curricular Activities like Arts & crafts, General Knowledge, cooking without fire, Yoga, dancing, singing, and many more wherein they learned about Lord Ganesha.

An inter-house GIIS competition was held for Grades 6 to 8 students. Grade 6 students made an idol of Ganesha using geometrical shapes or collages, while students of Class 7 and 8 made Ganpati using eco-friendly materials and clay.

Every year, GIIS Ahmedabad celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with an out-of-the-box theme to seek blessings from the lord. On this occasion, the Principal Mr. Caesar D’silva wished and blessed everyone. He also prayed for a healthy and happy life for students and staff members. He said, “Lord Ganesha is a God of prosperity and wisdom. It is very crucial to worship the lord for the betterment of life and positivity. We all must bow down to him for knowledge and intelligence. I wish Lord Ganesha to bless you all with wisdom and knowledge."
