The morning shift students of Grade 7D led an adrenaline-filled assembly that redefined youth patriotism through artistic expression and reflective purpose.

The Multi-Purpose Hall buzzed with quiet anticipation as student anchors set the tone for India's 79th Independence Day celebration. Guiding the gathering into deep reflection, Coordinator Ms Umesh Sharma led a solemn moment of silence. Through this pause, students paid tribute to the martyrs whose supreme sacrifices shaped the nation's destiny. It instilled a profound sense of gratitude in them.

The assembly transitioned gracefully into routine proceedings. A serene morning prayer filled the auditorium, followed by a thought-provoking message for the day, global and national news updates, and an insightful thematic address.

The stage came alive as students delivered a soulful patriotic song, engaging the entire audience in singing along in unity. The momentum was elevated with an expressive dance and a powerful skit depicting the heroic journeys of freedom fighters. The performance moved the student audience to stand and salute the martyrs, creating an unforgettable moment of collective pride.

Marking the occasion, Principal Mr Caesar D'Silva was felicitated with a memento. Addressing the gathering, Mr D'Silva commended the performers and the audience for their reverent participation. He emphasised that respecting the past requires striving for excellence in the present. He urged young learners to honour the nation's heritage by making impactful contributions across global sectors. He reminded everyone that today's students carry the responsibility of shaping India's global narrative.

In a befitting conclusion, the assembly introduced the audience to the newly elected Student Council members for the 2026-27 academic year. This seamless shift from honouring past heroes to empowering future leaders highlighted the core ethos of GIIS Ahmedabad.
