Oratory and presentation skills exhibited during the storytelling competition enthralled the audience

The Global Indian International School (GIIS), Smart Campus Balewadi organised a story-telling competition for the students of the KG1 grade on 17th July ’21.

As part of this special event, GIIS Parents were given specific guidelines by the teachers before recording the final story narration of their respective wards for evaluation. The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries which included our respected GIIS Balewadi Principal, Dr. N.K.P Ashok Raj; Ms. Vaishali Borde, Head GMP & Co-Scholastic, GIIS India; and Ms. Preetha D’ Mello, GMP Headmistress Whitefield Campus. They addressed the students and appreciated their efforts and the kind of performance they have exhibited during the virtual storytelling competition. They also applauded the efforts of the teachers, without whom this event would not have been possible.

Children narrated stories such as thirsty crow, the rabbit, and tortoise, the lion and mouse, etc. Some of them were also dressed up as characters and presented their story with the use of facial expressions and voice modulation. To captivate the audience's attention, the little narrators also made a proper background and used their props like puppets in order to give the real visual feel of the story. Each and every story was recited with a moral in a very unique way. The oratory and presentation skills of tiny tots were outstanding.

While concluding the competition, Ms. Vaishali Borde also said that “Storytelling activities always give wings to our imagination and take us to places beyond the boundaries of the physical world. This competition is one of the best ways to boost the confidence of a child.”

Later, the three top scorers were selected as winners for their extraordinary performance. GIIS congratulates all the participants, and winners and extends a warm thanks to the parents, teachers, and judges for making it an interesting event for students to perform and enjoy.
