SOF is an Educational Organization popularizing academic competition and assisting the development of competitive spirit among school children. SOF was established by leading academicians, scientists, and media personalities with the aim of promoting Science, Mathematics, Computer Education, English, General Knowledge, and professional course.

The enthusiastic competitor of GIIS Smart Campus, Balewadi participated in the Science Olympiads Foundation (SOF) which was held throughout the week of November 2020. This year 82 students appeared in the SOF across all grades. 53 students had appeared in International English Olympiad 2020 (IEO) while 29 students appeared in International General Knowledge Olympiad 2020 (IGKO). Among all, four students secured International ranks in the top 100 conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation, India.

Vidhi Darbar of Grade 1A secured 1st position at the school level by winning the Gold medal in International English Olympiad 2020 (IEO). Roshit and Yaesha of Grade 1 secured 2nd and 3rd ranks respectively and were also awarded the Gold medal.

At the same time, while Varad Shrihari Karande of Grade 2, Saachi Morey from Grade 3B, and Aadrika Saha from Grade 4A secured top positions by winning a Gold medal of excellence, the performance of Akshara Dwivedi from Grade 3A was par excellence scoring an International rank of 11. She earned gifts, a Certificate of distinction, and a Gold Medal to her credit. Pal Milan Gandhi from grade 5 and Tanisi Srinivas Chavan from grade 7A also secured top positions, receiving a gold medal and medal & certificate of distinction respectively.

The competition served as a great opportunity for our students to showcase their talents in a competitive environment. The aim of the SOF was to bring together students from various schools to sustain the enthusiasm in teaching and learning beyond the syllabus. GIIS congratulates all the participants and winners for their achievement. It was indeed a proud moment for all the teachers, parents, and all of us at GIIS.
