Greetings of the day.

The month of August has been a patriotic and festive one as students of GIIS Smart Campus Balewadi took part in a number of events which included Independence Day, Janmasthami, Raksha Bandhan and Ganesh Chaturthi.

The month witnessed a line-up of activities right from the start.

The 76th Independence Day celebration proved to be the highlight as it was celebrated with pride and honour. The chief guest for the flag hoisting ceremony was Ms. Aayushi Sanadhya, first batch Grade 10 topper. The flag hoisting took place at 8:30 am followed by the national anthem.

Speaking about the Rakshan Bandhan celebrations, Students of Nursery, KG1 and KG2 celebrated the festival in class. They were shown a PowerPoint Presentation and a video that explained the importance of the day. Later, students tied rakhi to each other, security guards and support staff of the school Students of the Primary Section put their creative side on display when they took part in the Rakhi Making activity.

Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with religious fervour by students of Nursery, K1 and K2 as they turned up to school dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha.  The festive celebrations also continued on the last day of the month on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Students of K2A, K2B and K2C were at their creative best when the Clay Modelling Competition was organised on Saturday, 27th August 2022.  The theme of the competition was Making clay models of Modes of Transport. Ms Durvisha Bhandekar clinched the top spot while Master Nirav Bansod stood second followed by Ms Nishita Singh who stood in the third spot. The tiny tots put on a good show as they were seen engaged all throughout the event.

The month also witnessed the first exam being conducted in offline mode. Students of Grade 1 and 2 appeared for Evaluation 1, students of Grade 3 to 8 appeared for Periodic Test 1, and students of Grade 9-10 appeared for Pre Mid-term. Meanwhile, students of Grade 11 appeared for Cyclic Test 1 and students of Grade 12 appeared for Cyclic Test 2.

As always I would like to thank all the parents for their continuous support and all the teachers for their dedication.

All the focus now shifts to September as the events, activities and studies will continue as students  will be engaged throughout the month.
