Drama in Education Series

Drama In Education
"All the world@aps@s a stage." - William Shakespeare, As You Like It

Power of expression, assimilation and sequencing are skill sets that are enhanced by drama. The use of dramatics helps in building an over-all personality of the individual.

As a part of Global schools Nine Gems initiative, GIIS Noida has introduced theatre classes for students from classes 3 to 7 to benefit from this rich trove of culture and aesthetics.

Well known theatre personality Ms. Meeta Mishra is leading the programme. She is an alumnus of National School of Drama.

Ms. Mishra has to her credit a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Bangalore University apart from a Diploma in Theatre Arts from Ninasam Theatre Institute, Bangalore. She received the 2010 Yuva Puraskar in Direction from Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. Her varied experience ranges from organising theatre festivals to the direction of challenging plays like Adhe Adhure - by Mohan Rakesh; Andha Yug; Khamosh! Adalat Jaari Hai; and the list is endless. Her involvement with children’s theatre has been equally encouraging. Theatre in Education has been her fond interest besides presenting /directing adaptations of famous works of Tagore; Panchatantra and Aesop’s Fables ; short stories adapted to plays for children among others. She has taught theatre in schools and has been a part of the theatre cultural exchange programmes that took her to London and New York .

The theatre workshop is a platform provided by GIIS Noida towards creating a memorable experience to our students who will continue to actively participate in theatre workshops and master the skill of performing arts
