At GIIS Bannerghatta, we recently organized an exciting Fire Drill Activity that sparked awareness of fire safety among our students and staff. Mr. Santhosh Menon, a renowned trainer from NDRF and Krystal Integrated Security Services, took the lead in the session. Mr. Menon, who has served in the Indian Army for an impressive 15 years and has more than two decades of experience in training armed forces and security personnel, brought unparalleled expertise and energy to our campus.

The day started energetically when Mr. Menon presented the basics of fire safety, turning a potentially intimidating topic into a captivating and educational event. Our students and staff were taught important skills including operating different kinds of fire extinguishers, preventing fires from spreading, and safely evacuating from a fire-damaged building.

The most exciting part of the event was getting to try out fire extinguishers, allowing participants how to use them in real life. This hands on method not just increased their self confidence but also provided them with essential real-world skills needed in emergencies.

During the session, Mr. Menon not only covered operational skills but also offered a comprehensive lesson on fire safety precautions and appropriate actions in emergency situations. The training included instruction on both how to respond in urgent situations and how to uphold safety protocols consistently.
